About Me

My photo
I retired from the Auto Industry in the Detroit area and now make my home in sunny Arizona. I enjoy travel and photography. Although I often think of my photography as serendipitous; I really direct myself to places where those pleasant surprises are likely to occur. When I travel I call myself the "Happy Wanderer".

Goodwill Treasures

I decided to go to a couple of Goodwill stores in the area to see what kind of treasures they had.  Most of the store area seemed to be dedicated to clothing.  There was also quite a bit of old appliances and electronics and a lot of books and cd's.  The most interesting items were the knicknacks, stuffed animals, and Christmas items.  I didn't end up buying anything but there were a number of interesting and humorous things to take photos of.

 Lots of Santas around

Motorcycle Museum

The Buddy Stubbs Motorcycle Museum is located in Phoenix.  I had never heard of it until recently, but it sounded good on TripAdvisor so decided to check it out.  It is in a section of the Harley Davidson dealer building on Cave Creek Road.  Buddy Stubbs is the owner of the dealership. He was a cycle racer and stunt man in his younger years.  His passion is cycles and he has accumulated hundreds over the years and has the best ones on display in this museum.  Admission is free.  I went on a Sunday afternoon and there were not very many people there.  That gave me plenty of time to look up close at the cycles and swap a few stories with Dwight who was the curator on duty.

One of the new models for sale.  Nice.

Says it all!

Earlier in the week I took a walk around our Community Center and took a few photos of interesting subjects there.

Our community palm trees.  Note the interesting seed pods.  ðŸ˜€
